The Zuri x I4G internship: Addressing inequality in Tech

As an IBM certified Data Scientist, economics graduate and front-end developer, i have always been intimidated, and somewhat intrigued, by the complexities of back-end development. But overtime, I have come to realize that the understanding of the fundamentals of back-end technology is important for my progression as a data scientist and web developer who intends to work with a fantastic team to provide ground breaking solutions. The zuri x I4G internship helps me achieve this goal.

The zuri x I4G internship provides the perfect opportunity to learn and advance my understanding of the python programming language as well as learn the Django framework for back-end development. In this internship, Ingressive 4 good has partnered with the Zuri team to freely provide tech skills ranging from front-end development, back-end development and UI/UX design. The fundamental aim is to address the inequalities that exist in the African tech ecosystem.

Registration for the internship was seamless. The program has provided a slack work-space for interactions and the mentors have been at their best. I have had the opportunity to interact with new people on a large scale as well.

The expectations for the program are immense and I look forward to advancing in this program.
